Anguilla Female Football League

The Caribbean Commercial Bank in its continued efforts to support the community of Anguilla, for the 2nd year is the official sponsor of the Anguilla Female Football League.

The 2nd Annual CCB sponsored Anguilla Female Football tournament kicked off on Aprill 22, 2005 and featured a dazzling display of fine football. Youngsters was the newest team to join the competition and added even more flavor to the beautiful game. The matches were competive throughout and the league showcased its primetime players such as Vernessa Bradley and Glenicia Richardson and identified some new and impressive talents in Krystie Webster and Keneisha Xavier.
The defending Champoins of 2004, the Lil' Super Stars were dethroned by Shine Stars who won the competition with a game left to be played. Lil' Soldiers were the most improved team in the league as the placed second and is the their highest position in the young history of the AFFL.
Although the Female football is not as popular as their male counterpart, it is fast becoming a major fan attraction on the island. The quality of play is of good standards which suggests that the coaching staff is doing an excellent job. The league is the stepping stone for making the regionally famed Anguilla Fire Ants Football Team.
CCB is once again proud to in association with any community based undertaking in an effort to give back to social well being of all Anguillians.
